The Aviation Manager will ensure delivery of the service to the Client in relation to aviation with an emphasis on airworthiness. Focus on aviation regulatory compliance of the department’s procedures and activities, while promoting safety and security measures and actively assisting in efficient and effective project & operational management. Oversee the daily operations and multiple type assets, in an offshore on shore operation. Meet Client request 24/7 as part of a team in an ADHOC environment. Direct reporting to Head of Aviation department to ensure the prompt escalation of all critical matters to prevent any disruption to in‑country issues.
Responsibilities and tasks include, but not limited to:
- Ensure Client Service delivery is provided to the highest standard
- Provide support to all departments within the organisation to meet the Client’s needs.
- Management of service delivery with a focus on supplier liaison and Client reporting
- Budget management; proposals, tracking and reporting, including invoice approval.
- Monitor management of spares inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels of essential components are maintained for scheduled maintenance and unplanned maintenance.
- Review maintenance planning and scheduling and oversee its co‑ordination with operating plans to maximise Aircraft availability.
- Monitor the work of Aviation Services Suppliers responsible for maintenance work, in accordance with Aviation Services Supply Contracts, and obtain confirmation that maintenance work is being completed in accordance with regulatory standards, manufacturer requirements and where applicable with consideration for Client specific needs.
- Coordination of AOG events, including reporting and with support and in liaison with relevant departments the sourcing/procurement and logistic support with regards to parts and materials
- Advise in relation to procurement processes, including the identification and selection of Aviation Services Suppliers, information gathering on potential suppliers, due diligence, request for quotes, supplier scoring in order to short list and make final selection.
- Have an awareness of customs requirements and in liaison with stakeholders ensure correct procedures are followed and documentary evidence is collected and retained
- Coordination of all activities of the aviation department such as, but not limited to work assignments of aviation staff subordinates
- Mindful of challenging environmental conditions and ensures that safe working conditions are upheld.
- Good record keeping relative to the aviation department, including maintaining comprehensive timesheets and recording all work performed.
- Co‑ordinate the operations of different Aviation Services Suppliers and verify that the Aviation Services Suppliers are operating with due regard to safety, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. Support the Aviation Services Suppliers when operating plans need to be changed due to changes in requirements.
- Provides advisory service and reporting to governing bodies if necessary.
- Review of safety reports and follow any investigation and assess if there was any deviation from process and or regulation
- Understanding of rotary aircraft, with specific experience and/or knowledge of maintenance inspection packages.
- Cross examination of maintenance work packages, verifying and where required challenging supplier invoices.
Support audits of suppliers (OPS, Part 145, MRO and CAMO)

- Builds and maintains positive relationships both with internal company departments and external suppliers.

- Excellent organisational skills, adaptable and flexible approach to work matching requirements of project work and interacting with team members in different time zones
- Excellent problem-solving skills. Able to manage and resolve issues to ensure operating priorities are delivered.
- Ability to work with Microsoft Office – Work, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and be confident in using wider IT software
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalently evidenced professional experience
- Familiar with rotary aircraft and applicable aeronautical law
- Comprehensive understanding of managing aviation suppliers, their teams, Client request and other divisions requests in a time critical and live operating environment
- Able to communicate strategically in an intercultural environment
- Understanding of offshore services
- Willingness and understanding that a lot of travel and time from home is required, with up to 60 days per year available to be spent in Europe.
- Not constrained by any nationality or visa limitations for travel in UK, Europe and Middle East
- Ideally +10 years in an aviation OPS environment or similar
- VVIP experience with focus on service delivery
- Experience with maritime operations
- Commercial experience, or exposure ideally in an aviation setting
